About Us

Applying copper wire to shape an American Larch (Larix laricina) bonsai.

Throughout the early aughts, a number of bonsai-related events were taking place in the Burlington-Hamilton area and Royal Botanical Gardens often provided the venue. Interest was steadily growing in the bonsai community and, in October 2009, The Bonsai Society at Royal Botanical Gardens (often stylized “Bonsai@RBG”) had its first official meeting.

Our membership includes bonsai enthusiasts with experience ranging from zero to over forty years! Some of us are merely curious about bonsai while others are completely immersed in this ancient art.

Our monthly meetings are at the heart of our activities. In addition, we strive to enrich our calendar with exhibitions, workshops, socials, and much more.
